The Rio Grande Nature Center State Park is located on the central Rio Grande flyway, and is a winter home to sandhill cranes, Canada geese, and numerous other species of waterfowl. The park features two miles of trails along the cottonwood-covered bosque, and the center offers naturalist-led hikes, exhibits and hands-on activites. One of the highlights of the Nature Center is its glass-walled library, which provides a unique opportunity to view bosque wildlife in their natural habitat. Occasionally visitors may even spot such secretive residents as raccons, beavers, or even coyotes.
